I spent a lot of time reading books when I was a child. Going to the library on Saturday afternoons was my favourite activity. We’ve been reading books to our daughter since she was 10 mos old and we’re collecting the classics we grew up with for her . . . thanks for sharing your list.

    Mine are up too.

What a great list! I see some of my old faves from my own childhood. Thanks for reminding me of the classics on which I’d like my children to find a passion for reading!

great list! I read many of those as a child and have read even more of them to my kids. and now they’re readers themselves! happy TT, mine’s up!

Nice list. I remember reading all the time as a child, but honestly can’t remember any specific books. I remember having all the Nancy Drew books, and some Trixie Belden, but that’s about it.

I got in trouble at my 4th birthday party because I abandoned the party to read. Oops.

    Happy Thursday.

I read the Little House series over and over when I was younger. Also the Anne of Green Gables series.

I loved Charlotte’s Web…but it still didn’t cure me of my fear of spiders!

Oh man. I was a Nancy Drew nut!! And Witch of Blackbird pond is one of my all-time fav’s. I really need to re-read that one. Somehow, though, I missed out on Roald Dahl and C. S. Lewis when I was young. :(
