Post Read-a-thon Survey
1. Which hour was most daunting for you?
The hour right before I took my 3 hour nap! (About 1 am CT)
2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?
I think children’s/YA titles and light-hearted mysteries by Alexander McCall Smith or Jasper Fforde are best for the late night hours.
3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
None-it went great. Thanks!
4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?
Everything!
5. How many books did you read?
2.75- with over 12 hours of pure reading time and over 700 pages completed
6. What were the names of the books you read?
Gossamer by Lois Lowry, Tears of the Giraffe by Alexander McCall Smith, and 3/4 of Lisey’s Story by Stephen King.
7. Which book did you enjoy most?
Gossamer and Tears of the Giraffe. Not sure I like Lisey’s Story yet.
8. Which did you enjoy least?
Lisey’s Story. Mostly because of the language and a few things that happen to Lisey. It’s been over 20 years since I’ve read a King novel, and now I remember why. My constitution is such that I really don’t like horror that much (I used to love it, but that changed.)
9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?
Cheerleaders this year were great for motivation. Readers also participated and commented quite frequently for other readers. It was quite an encouragement.
10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time?
I’d LOVE to be able to read again next year. It was a blast.

Congrats!

Done!
Congratulations! It really was fun, wasn’t it?
Well done, it seems like everyone had a blast, it was sort of like an online book reading sleepover
You did a great job. I think we got tired around the same time
It was hard to stay awake, for me, after two o’clock.
Congratulations on all your reading. I’m glad you had a good time.
Congratulations on completing the marathon. You did a great job. I really enjoy Alexander McCall Smith’s Ladies’ Detective series.
Congrats!
Wow! You did really great!!! I don’t know how you kept with the King one for so long…I woulda been creeped out! LOL! It was great to watch your progress!

Let me know which if the four books you’d like…if none of them sound appealing, and you’re on Bookmooch, I can give you a bookmooch point instead!
I so would have fallen asleep. Much as I love reading, and it is a deep abiding passion, the tendency to fall asleep overcomes me far too often! Like you, I think I’ve lost my fondness for Stephen King, too. I tried Cell, but it just got too gory. My goodness, I feel old typing this!
it really was a lot of fun, wasn’t it?
That is so cool!! I WISH I was around this weekend. If not to read, but cheer on the readers!!
