I hope you like Poisonwood Bible. I loved it, but my mother, sister and niece didn’t. My other sister and niece liked it, tho. People seem to either like it or dislike it, no middle ground.
No worries about not having read the HP series, yet (or book 1, anyway) … I JUST finished reading Book 1 for the first time a couple of weeks ago (it was my TBR Challenge ’07 book #6! LOL). ;-P
That was my first *HP* series read… But, I now look forward to reading the rest!
I am really glad, though, that I saw the movies first — helped me “picture” the characters.
