Some of us from the classic_lit reading group and the Russian Reading Challenge have combined to form a new yahoo group to read War and Peace over the first few months of 2008.
Here’s the tentative schedule:
January 15 – through Part I
February 15 – through Part II
March 15 – through Part III
April 15 – through Part IV
Discussions will begin on the date listed, and it will be assumed members will have read the specific part listed before that date. Each part is approximately 300 pages.

1. Having the house to myself is my favorite form of therapy.
2. If you get my voice mail you’ll hear just a boring, standard message.
3. My favorite product EVER is the combination of books and coffee.
4. I see something relaxing–rolling farm land.
5. When I’m grumpy everyone pays for it.
6. Drinking a full pot of coffee a day is my strangest habit. (I’ll try to think of a better, stranger one.)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to watching Stargate Atlantis, tomorrow my plans include reading a book, and Sunday, I want to see the Broncos and Bengals both win.

November 12-18 is Children’s Book Week. I have 4 children’s books that I want/need to read before the end of 2007, so I’m going to challenge myself to read them during this week.
My 4 books are:
- Zel by Donna Jo Napoli (’N’ Author, Something about Me Challenge)
- Zia by Scott O’Dell (’Z’ Title)
- Pippi Longstocking (Reading across Borders – Swedish language)
- The Xanadu Adventure by Lloyd Alexander (’X’ Title)
