Okay, even I can’t read ALL the time, so I’m guessing that you folks might voluntarily shut the covers from time to time as well… What else do you do with your leisure to pass the time? Walk the dog? Knit? Run marathons? Construct grandfather clocks? Collect eggshells?
My answer:
My older son participates in junior high school sports, so we go to all of his games and meets. His football and basketball teams were both undefeated this year, so that was a lot of fun. He’s doing wrestling this year for the first time so that’s exciting as well.
I also watch quite a bit of tv. I’m a big fan of the Denver Broncos and Cincinnati Bengals as well as the Kentucky Wildcats (basketball and football). We watch those games when we’re able. My family loves sci-fi, so we have quite a list of shows we enjoy.
This is my embarrassingly long list of tv shows I watch:
- LOST
- Heroes
- Survivor
- American Idol
- Stargate Atlantis
- Battlestar Galactica (our kids don’t watch this one)
- Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
- Doctor Who
- Masterpiece Theatre
Luckily all of these aren’t on at the same time. I read 101 books last year. Just think how much more I could have read if I didn’t watch all these shows! I do enjoy these almost as much as my books, though.

I watch American Idol, House, Monk, Jon and Kate Plus 8, Masterpiece theator(Jane Austen Series), and sometimes a few others when nothing else is on and I feel like watching mind numbing TV instead of reading a book. Also sometimes I do not have enough time to start a book before bed and I know I won’t want to put it down I will watch TV instead.
I’m a big Lost fan too.
Ha! I like TV too. I watch Heroes, American Idol, CSI Miami, Criminal Minds, The Biggest Loser, and Journeyman.
I always meant to watch LOST but I missed the first season and haven’t rented it yet. One of these days I will and I am sure I will be just as addicted as everyone else!
I watch almost no TV at all but it doesn’t make me read any faster. LOL Looks like you watch some fun shows. We have no cable or satellite and I’m forgetful or I’d watch a little more.
I love Battlestar Galactica, it’s very dark though, can’t wait for the new series and I love Dr Who too but they need to bring Rose back!
Michelle! I love LOST and IDOL too! Can’t wait to compare notes! =)
I don’t watch much TV any more because I’m usually reading but I do have a number of hobbies. Happy BTT.
I had to get rid of the TV to discover the joy of reading. When I have access to a TV I read nothing at all. I was a hopeless TV addict; now I am a hopeless book addict.
I’m picking up Lost again this year after becoming disenchanted two seasons ago. And the Wildcats are okay…but Duke rules! And thanks for the reminder – I need to watch this week’s SCC.

I watch 5 of the shows you list and don’t think I watch a lot of TV. Maybe I’m deluded myself. Hubby and I are watching Dr. Who on DVD and are in the middle of the second season now. I was never a Dr. Who fan, but I really like the newer version.
This week’s BTT question was really fun. It’s interesting to see what everyone likes doing with the rest of their free time.
I will admit that I’ve been watching more TV lately, but I’m usually knitting at the same time so I don’t feel like I’m “wasting” too much time.
Ha! We’re almost tied! I watch: Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Women’s Murder Club, House, Moonlight, CSI: Miami, The Unit, Cold Case, & Prison Break.
Nothing wrong with a bit of TV. I watch Heros, America’s Next Top Model, My Name is Earl, Scrubs, re-runs of Grounded for Life/That 70s Show, the new and fab Reaper, Blood Ties, Skins and plan on watching the new Urban Fantasy/Vampire Detective show I forgot the name of when it starts.
