i-tunes sales — a predictor?

As of this moment, here are the top i-tunes sales of the American Idol contestants:

The songs from this week have just barely begun selling. I predict Hallelujah and Hello to go much higher. Three people take up 9 out of 12 of those slots: David Archuleta, Jason Castro, and David Cook. They, along with Brooke, are definitely my favorites so far. I wouldn’t at all mind seeing those 4 in the final four.

  • Very interesting. Even as I’m reading this I’m listening to Jason Castro’s Daydream (which I currently have embedded on my page). I LOVE it! If these four that you’ve suggested are in the finals, I have no idea who I’ll vote for. That just might be too much stress for me! Though Jason Castro is making his way to the top of my list fast. :)

  • Those are my favorites as well (except for David Cook…I liked his performance this week, but I don’t think he’ll make it to the end)!

I would have a hard time between picking between David A., Jason, and Brooke. I’d buy any of their albums! And that video that Brooke did that you showed last week was *awesome*!

  • I haven’t been following Idol as well this season because of some scheduling issues, but I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of Jason Castro! And I’m a hometown traitor for saying so, since he grew up about 20 minutes from my hometown in TX. For shame, I know! I do dig his folksy, guitar-playing’ness, though. Right now Archuleta is my favorite all the way.

  • I really like Jason, David and Brooke as well. I’d by Jason’s rendition of “Daydream” if I didn’t mind my credit card in cyber space. It’s fun to see how closely we agree!

  • Even I set the books aside on American Idol nights. David Archuleta is my clear favorite this year – probably because I teach high school music students, so I have soft spot for talented 17 year olds.

But I do enjoy Jason Castro, who has a fresh approach and is clearly not egocentric.

It’s an interesting Idol year, isnt’ it??
