Six books.
Winners, shortlisted, and longlisted books counted.
The ones I read:
- Cat’s Eye by Margaret Atwood (1989 shortlist)
- Life and Times of Michael K by Coetzee (1983 winner)
- Life of Pi by Yann Martel (2002 winner)
- On Chesil Beach by McEwan (2007 shortlist)
- The Gathering by Enright (2007 winner)
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Haddon (2003 longlist)
- Hotel du Lac by Anita Brookner
- The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry (2008 shortlist)
- The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga (2008 winner)
I liked all of them except On Chesil Beach. The Gathering was not enjoyable due to the subject matter, but it was thought-provoking. My favorites were Cat’s Eye and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. Thanks, Dewey, for a great challenge!
