I would have to second The Book Thief. I’ve also loved A Thousand Splendid Suns and Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson.
Hmm…top 3 books from the last couple of years… I guess I’d say The Road by Cormac McCarthy, Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami and The Makioka Sisters by Junichiro Tanizaki.
