I think we need a Sunday Salon button for winter! Brrrrrrrrrrr. It’s 0 F here with -30 F windchills (that’s approximately -18 C and -34 C, respectively). Second day in a row. Need I say, this is also the second day in a row I have not left the house. But all is not lost as I sit by my fireplace with my two cats, a book, and some hot chocolate!

I’ve been happy with my reading this week, but I am behind on reviews. I finished A Mercy by Toni Morrison, Ender in Exile by Orson Scott Card, and A Country Called Home by Kim Barnes this week. I’ll probably finish Kristin Lavransdatter 2: The Wife by Sigrid Undset later this evening. The latter is set in Norway, and the weather outside definitely sets the mood! I read Volume 1 of Kristin in December of last year and started in on the second book but didn’t finish because of challenge/arc commitments. I thought it might be difficult to pick the storyline up again but it wasn’t at all. I really do love following Kristin’s life story and hope to finish Book 3 early next year. I’m also grateful it will fit nicely into some challenges I need to finish up. I needed a ‘U’ author, a Nobel laureate, and a classic. Fits all three!
Have a great Christmas week, and stay safe, everyone!
