A group of us are participating in Orange July, and I haven’t posted my intention to participate yet — after we’re almost halfway through the month! I have been reading winners and shortlist and longlist titles, which all qualify.
Books so far:
- How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff (2005 new writers’ shortlist)
- Intuition by Allegra Goodman (2009 longlist)
- Property by Valerie Martin (2003 winner)

I have Half of a Yellow Sun! and I have read The Gathering by Anne Enright
but i m not sure i can do anythign now!

Vasilly, I try to participate each January and July but sometimes I only have time to read one book.
Veens, Half of a Yellow Sun is a great book. I thought The Gathering was well-written but the topic was soooooo depressing.
