I haven’t read this but keep hearing good reviews. I’m honestly happy to come across this so I have an excuse not to. Not that I’m terribly swayed but when everyone loves it hands down, I feel like I have to. It just isn’t terribly appealing even in synopsis, i think.

How disappointing! It sounds like a good premise but the reasons you put you didn’t care for it are exactly the things that would irritate me too.
