I’m not going to finish this challenge, so sadly, it’s a DNF. I went with the option of 3 mega-chunksters of 750+ pages, and there is NO WAY I can do that by November 15. The ones I really wanted to read were:
- Drood by Dan Simmons
- Middlemarch by George Eliot
- War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
Every year I want to read Middlemarch and War and Peace but never get to them. Maybe 2010 will be the year…
I always say the same thing about War and Peace and Gone With the Wind. It’s practically a crime (certainly a sin) not to have ever read GWTW while living in the South.
I always think that about Gone with the Wind and Little Women. Both are sitting on my shelf every year calling my name!! Thank goodness that I hadn’t read the Harry Potter series yet, or I wouldn’t have finished this challenge either. I do have a lot that I didn’t finish yet…and probably won’t!
I’m sorry to hear that you will not finish this challenge. I have a hard time finishing large books as well.
