I’ve finished this challenge, and might even read more books published in 2009 this year, but I thought it was time to mark this challenge complete. It’s hard to pick favorites, when I really liked so many of these books, but my two favorites were probably The Housekeeper and the Professor and The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. My least favorite was The Last Bridge.
There will be a Pub 2010, so if you want to participate, get your lists ready!
The books I read:
- The Little Giant of Aberdeen County by Tiffany Baker
- The Houskeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa
- All the Living by C.E. Morgan
- Jane Austen Ruined My Life by Beth Pattillo
- The Angel’s Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
- The Tricking of Freya by Christina Sunley
- Shanghai Girls by Lisa See
- The Help by Kathryn Stockett
- The Last Bridge by Teri Coyne
- Brooklyn by Colm Toibin
- The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters
- A Rule Against Murder (aka The Murder Stone) by Louise Penny
- The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley
- Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
- Tea Time for the Traditionally Built by Alexander McCall Smith
- The Unit by Ninni Holmqvist

Congratulations on finishing! I have had The Housekeeper and the Professor on my list ever since I saw your review last year. I have been waiting patiently, but it still hasn’t turned up in my library – only a few more months to go and then the paperback will be released – hopefully it will turn up then (or I can at least buy it without spending too much money!)
Great list!
Congrats! and good work. when are you coming up with the list of nxt years challenges!
Congrats! Unfortuantely I haven’t ended up reading too many 2009 books, so I don’t think I’ll be successful in this challenge.
Congrat on finishing! Since I read almost all ARCs this year, it was an easy challenge for me.
