one of the best episodes EVER!!!! This film is not about romantic love, but rather, a love between mother and child and also love between two sisters. When I watched this film over a year ago, I immediately thought of my sister Carrie, whom I was very close to growing up even though we were 13 1/2 years apart. The sisters in this film have a similar background. Close while growing up, but separated as adults by circumstances beyond their control. It is a story about unconditional love between sisters and a love beyond comprehension between a mother and child. This movie, while in the French language, transcends all language barriers. Kristen Scott Thomas is outstanding in the lead role, and the supporting cast is excellent as well. It is a film that left me grateful for my relationships with both my sisters and my sons, and one that will stay with me for a long time to come. Grade: A+ Decided to join Natasha’s Bloggiesta if only to do two things:
(I already had an ‘all in one’ social plugin, but it seems that you get better results on your site/blog score if you have dedicated facebook and twitter buttons.) Mission accomplished!! If you use wordpress, all you have to do is go to your control panel and then to plugins. Then, go to ‘install plugins’ in the top right hand corner. Enter ‘Facebook Likes It!’ into the space and you’ll see where you can install it. After installing the plugin, click the activate plugin button. Then, go to your settings on the left sidebar and scroll down to Facebook Like It! to place the button where you want it to go. Do the same thing for the retweet button and search for ‘twitter anywhere plus.’ Continue the procedure above. Now when you get to the settings for this plugin, you’ll see a link to follow for a twitter API key on the twitter site. Enter the information, and then you’ll get a code to use. You don’t have to enter this code. Instead, use the long number after id= in the code and put it in the box for the API key on the settings page. (Edited to add: if you want a shortened code to the url of your post you must put %u in the content box under the ‘retweet button’ section) You’ll have to play around with the settings to get it the way you want it. Mine’s not perfect, as the facebook like button is above my linkin boxes and the retweet is below it, but oh well, I can live with it for now. Also, please facebook like or retweet this if this post was helpful to you and you decide to use these features. Thanks, and Happy Bloggiesta!! Good riddance, 2010!! It was a horrible year for me, but on the bright side, I think 2011 will be a 1000% or more improvement. I’m ready to make a fresh start in the new year and get back into things. I went to the library and checked out some Orange books for Orange January and am looking forward to reading them after I finish Breathing Lessons by Anne Tyler. I’m also excited to look into reading some of the books on the “best of” lists that everyone posted for 2010. I’ve obviously been totally out of the loop for the entire year, but I’m looking forward to reading your blogs again. And, of course, the books that everyone is talking about. On a side note, I moved again and am now living in the Mobile, Alabama area. I will really miss being close to my family, but I won’t miss the ultra cold winters of Nebraska/Iowa. I’m not looking forward to the summers here, though. I don’t like it when it gets above 85!! I’m also trying to find a book club that interests me so I can meet some new friends here. Fellow readers do make the best of friends! Here’s to 2011!!! Sorry, I didn’t realize that my Mr. Linkys weren’t working for the last week or so, but everything’s fixed now on the challenge blogs. Let me know if you find one that isn’t, though! |
